Building Blocks is now on Facebook!

Touring and Enrollment

We accept new students all year long, provided there is classroom space available.   Tours of our facility are scheduled during the morning so you can see how the teacher engages her students during preschool activities.  Besides visiting the classroom and meeting the teacher, we will take you through the building and show you our Playroom, outdoor playgrounds, bathrooms and other rooms used by the children.

We'll review our enrollment application, tuition, discipline and sickness policies and answer any questions that you might have.

We highly recommend bringing your child along for the visit!

Kickin' Flips continues to thrill!

We have been thrilled to offer classes by Kickin' Flips at our school for the past 18 years!  Kickin' Flips provide challenging (yet age appropriate) instruction on Karate and Gymnastics for our 2's, 3's and 4's.  Each week during the school year they load up our Playroom with their equipment (tumbling mats, balance beams, bars, etc.) and collect their students for an exciting 30-minute session.  Classes are $11 each and start the week of September 14th: Tumbling & Gymnastics ~ Monday at 3:30 and Karate ~ Friday at 3:00.   Class sign up sheets, brochures and registration forms are located on our front counter.

Welcome Back to School, Preschool thru Kindergarten 2016!

All of our teachers are eager to kick off another great year of school!  We've been sprucing up the classrooms and planning another awesome year of academic fun.  Please check your child's classroom calendar for 'back to school' nites and special days this month.

Goodbye Summer Campers!

It was another fantastic year of Camp filled with fun visits to:  The FunPlex Splash Park, Atsion Lake, Riverwinds Swim Club, The Main Event Bowling, Bounce U, and the movies. It's always great to see so many familiar faces back to catch up with old friends.  We had mostly great weather and the time flew by.  Do well in school and we’ll see you next Summer!

Community Helpers visit our Center!

April is a busy, busy month with lots of exciting visitors talking to the children about what they do every day.  We have scheduled many special guests including our neighbor, Dr. Coudrai from the Winslow Animal Hospital, Chick Fil A's Baby Cow, Gloucester County Library, Holdbrook Pediatric Dental, National Guard, TD Bank, and Andy Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse.  Super special thanks to Miss Nicole's father, "Nick the Barber" for giving Kyle a "trim".  We really get excited meeting so many wonderful new friends and learning about their jobs!

Splash Days!

Beginning the week of June 1st, each class has a weekly Water Day noted on their calendar.  We set up water tables, sprinklers and a water slide (for the bigger kids) to keep us cool in the summer heat. It's a blast and usually lasts 30 minutes or so. Children should come in already wearing sunscreen and bathing suits -- pack clothes and a beach towel marked with their name.

Snow Closings

In the event of severe weather that requires us to close Building Blocks, we will post closing information on the banner at the top of our home page as well as send an email to all families by 6:00 a.m.

What is Clue Club?

Clue Club is our updated Show & Tell for preschool classes.  Most classes will use the letter of the week and ask the children to bring in an item beginning with that letter.  The item should be placed in a bag and your child will give clues to help the other children figure out what's inside.  If your child is too young to give clues you can write them on the bag and the teacher will tell the class.   The children also love when there's a treat inside the bag to share with the class!  Check your classroom calendar to see when Clue Club is scheduled.

Congratulations Grads!

Cap and Gown Graduation ceremonies were held Friday, June 19th at the Friendship Community Church in Sicklerville.  Our grads did a wonderful job and made everyone proud!

Updated Vaccinations

A reminder, there have been two new vaccinations added to the list of required immunizations for children aged 0 to 6 years.  They are: Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (administered by 9/1) and Influenza Vaccine (administered by 12/30). All children attending childcare centers must have these shots (when applicable) if they are attending in September.   Child Health Record forms (yellow) are located on the front counter or in the office. Please be sure you take one with you when you visit the pediatrician.

Our Website

We are so pleased to introduce our new website!  Besides providing up-to-date information on our school and programs, our ultimate goal is to be interactive with the families attending our center. We've added a "Calendars" page with classroom calendars.  Our "School News" page includes links to our Shutterfly Classroom Albums and Facebook page.  When we add the classroom picture albums that will include shots from field trips, holiday parties and fun times, they will be password protected so only families attending our center will be able to view them.  Let us know what else you would like included on this page and we'll do our best to add it!

Recalled Children's Products and Toys

The
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction. Deaths, injuries and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $700 billion annually. The CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children. The CPSC's work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals - contributed significantly to the 30 percent decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years.
